From 12-minute phone tag to a linked SMS: one 3C brand's first month.
Apr 28, 2026
The first month is where a new number either becomes part of the workflow or quietly gets ignored. Here is how this 3C brand made it stick.
Week 1: turn it on and say nothing
They did not announce the number. They wanted to see what would happen if the only thing that changed was that calls got answered. Volume was low, but every call that came in ended cleanly.
Week 2: put it on the product page
Once the first transcripts looked sane, they added the number to the product page. Call volume roughly doubled, and the questions shifted from logistics to product specifics.
Week 3–4: close the loop with SMS
- Every unresolved call sent a link, not a promise.
- The link opened a page with the ticket and the transcript.
- Follow-up stopped depending on someone remembering.
- of phone tag, cut to 1 link
- call volume after going live
- to a new default
The number only became real when the SMS made it useful. Before that, it was just a phone line.
What they would tell another seller
Do not wait for the perfect script. Turn it on, read the transcripts, and let the first month tell you what to write.
